Message from the Director

From the first step in 1931 at MIT to the second in 1943 at Harvard, management education has traveled almost 70 years by now. The journey may not be so long as in othr disciplines; however it has well established itself and secured a high position in the family of disciplines during the period. Its basic and most important aims are to develop the virtues of entrepreneurship and leadership in a person. Perhaps such qualities are more needed in a businessman; so management education has grown up along with the development of trade and commerce. Business today in the era of internationalization and laissez-faire policy is looking towards management education for guidance and direction. In fact there has always been a pressure on management education to formulate principles according to needs of business environment. The business schools, particularly in the USA and the West, followed in quick fashion.

There are a number of management institutes established in recent year all over the country. Rajasthan and particularly Jaipur is no exception of this. But Shastri Institute of Learning promoted by Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Trust is distinct because it visualizes the business need of tomorrow and prepares the students accordingly, Besides, it firmly holds that business educations does not mean business only, let it must incorporate human values, cultural instincts and religious outlook to develop the wholesome personality of students so that they can face all sorts of challenges of today’s complicated life. Institution like this makes to realize that Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Martin Luthur King, Nelson Mandela and like were leaders not by birth but by virtue of hard work, sincerity, simplicity and commitment & demotion to duty. So anyone can aspire to be a leader by following such virtues. Shastri Institute of Learning may be new to jaipur (Rajasthan) but there are already such institues after the name of Lal Bahadur Shastri in Delhi. Lucknow and Barely and their success story is not secret to anyone. We will not only follow their footsteps but also try to anyone. We will not only follow their footsteps but also try to move a step ahead, because our motto is “Efforts may fail but doesn’t fail to make efforts”.
